Some time ago I noticed on many art portals (newgrounds,deviantart, polish digart), that if you seek some popularity and critique, tips and moar, then being original and innovative doesn't pay off (in most cases)

The thing is that many people tender to clickadick art thumbnails on search, that they seem to familiarize with something. Overusing pop icons, memes and animu references (OH LOOK I HAVE DRAWN FUCKING "L" FROM DEATH NOTE. OMGOMG IM-A SOO KOOL DESU ^^) seems to be the way. If you want to pour down your own ideas and thoughts in drawing, in many cases you will be heavily dissapointed, your art seen by 5 people and you'll get one review. Eventually some weak "mario furry porn" will fucking outrule your shit. No matter if your art is innovative, haveing great artistic value or whatever. There's some fault in artists, who put a face or something in their art thumbnails, instead of ass or tits. It's primitive as hell, but hey, it's part of newgrounders culture, and we as society do not want non-sex related thumbs, at least you will attract moar users.

Many great arts are buried deeply in webspace of portals under a milion of fucking icons redrawn again and again. It's like seeing the same movie againg with different actors each time. Entertaining at start but quickly gets boring and dumb.

NO WAIT! We can always draw Pedobear doing Michael Jackson in the ass! The worse drawing the better for you, you'll provoke comment war eventually, and fuckflood of views.

And the great artists of fragile soul will be ulitmately dissapointed and forgotten after 5 mere views. And ultimately, they will draw a fucking furry to attract attention, and so, the circle of life closes.
